… to visit Verona

I don’t know if it’s because of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet or even due to the amazing images the film Letters to Juliet showed me. What I do know is that this one has a very special place in my list.

… visitar Verona

Cloisters attached to San Zeno Maggiore church with both rounded Romanesque and Gothic pointed arches. Sunday crowds stroll and be seen in Piazza Bra.Statue of Madonna of Verona and facade of Casa Mazzanti.Frescoes at Casa Mazzanti, Piazza delle Erbe. Statues on Castelvecchio. The 2000 year old Arena di Verona. The house of Romeo and Juliet is covered with lover's graffiti and messages, turning the area into a romantic shrine for lovers from all over the world.

I’ve referred Jane Austen before (View from Pompidou and Vanity vs. Pride), so by now  you already know I really appreciate her work. “Pride and Prejudice” was actually the first novel by her that I read and I remember I enjoyed it so much I bought “Sense and Sensibility” and “Mansfield Park” the following day. Today I felt like bringing you Pride and Prejudice, the TV Series,  which was already mentioned by our guest author DarkJade when he reviewed The King’s Speech. Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle were, in my honest opinion, absolutely brilliant and completely successful in the very hard goal of paying tribute to a stupendous literature work.

Billy Costigan: You sit there with a mass murderer. A mass murderer. Your heart rate is jacked, and your hand… steady. That’s one thing I figured out about myself in prison. My hand does not shake… ever.

I really enjoy Woody Allen work and Vicky Cristina Barcelona is no exception. Penelope Cruz owns the film in my opinion and Javier Bardem also did a great job. But, most of all, the film completely captured the spirit of the city of Barcelona specially through its soundtrack.

.
