Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could travel to a past decade? Wouldn’t it be fun to be able to experience the fashion, food and music from the past? I think it would! Consequently, today we’re about to travel to the 30s with a vintage twist! All we have to do is find the right place and be creative.
There was a tourism boom in many places during this decade and the American trains had their glory before the post-war rise of the automobile. The services were confortable, sleekly-liveried and operated high-speed long-distance. The Pioneer Zephyr and 20th Century Limited are some famous names.

How to do this today? Como conseguir isto hoje?

Some great American rail services still operate. For instance, the Empire Builder leaves Chicago’s iconic Union Station each day, bound for Seattle or Portland. This 2200-mile journey takes 46 hours and features cheese and wine tasting along the route.

I love riding trains!!! I wish we had more here in the States!
Traveling by train for me has been fun in the past. I remember when the dining car actually served food they cooked on the train. That doesn’t happen anymore. Now if I could travel back in time, a decade wouldn’t be far enough for me. I’d want to go back to 1880’s in America. Then ride the Iron Horse across the prairie or take the 3:10 to Yuma.
Yes, train travel seemed very romantic and adventurous back then!
Ahhh LOVE this post! I would love to be able to travel during those times! I wonder what the atmosphere would have been like compared to travel now? What I wouldn’t do for a time machine!! 🙂
I would love to travel in a time machine to a different era! 🙂
wow very nice, Wish I could travel like that from Vancouver to Portland 🙂
Vancouver BC or Vancouver Washington?
Love this post! I would love to go back to a time when travel was glamourous!
