This August I visited two of the Azores Islands, namely S. Miguel and Santa Maria. Situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, The Archipelago of the Azores is composed of nine volcanic islands. Despite all the islands have volcanic origins, Santa Maria have had no recorded activity since the islands were settled.
Until recently it was pretty hard to find people (outside of Portugal) who knew the beauty and singularity of the Azores Islands, so it’s good to know that the world seems to be waking up now.
.

Good morning, thanks for your information and pictures with the “Agapanthus” flowers, which we have also seen in the Madeira island.I also like you writing in Portuguese. Best regards Martina

I have always felt a visit to the islands would be a grand time. They seem a bit of a mystery out to sea so far. Maybe that is what intrigues me.

They’ve been on my list forever. I’ve got a friend who’s moved there recently and she’s loving it. Great pictures too!

They’re on mine too, Ana. I think it’s a fairly short season? I’m kind of hoping that when I finally get to live in Portugal I’ll find cheap flights there. I can dream 🙂

Ahaha well, right now we can all only dream about the cheap flights… Since they’re all operated by SATA they’s pretty expensive when compared to other destinations. Flights between islands are in my opinion too expensive but an effective way to travel from one island to another. (I tried the boat too, which is a little cheaper, but personally boats aren’t my favourite).

Bellas panorámicas has conseguido.
Un abrazo desde las Islas Canarias.
