This is one of my favourite books! But I will probably refrain from watching the movie, because, as always with books and movies, I believe my vision of the characters and the story will be very different to that of the director’s!
Ah yes, in my case, I am a Film Person more than I am a Reader… So generally I only See the Films, and this was a Great one… Also, Merchant and Ivory, the Production Company that made this Film, always did Delicate/Sensitive Brilliant Work.
As a rule, I never compare Books to Movies, even if I’ve Read the Book… But that’s just me, most have issues with that topic.

E.M. Forster’s A ROOM WITH A VIEW is a see again and again and again movie. It is as fresh today as it was when I watched it for the first time in l985. It was Forster’s third book and the second to be set in Italy. Like the movie one can read and reread Forster’s novells, and enjoy them afresh each time. Virginia
I Agree that it is as Fresh Now, as it was when it came out… I too saw it when it was in the Theaters, and though I was young, I Loved Every Moment, and now Own it, and have seen it dozens of times.
