Not only are Bridges a very useful strategy to cross a river but they’re also amazing works of art. There are numerous famous bridges around the world due to their architectural aspects. And the truth is wherever we go we instantly look for one to appreciate or even photograph. That being said, here you’ve got some of my favourite bridges around the world.
Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco, USA
This bridge is 2,7 km long and connects San Francisco with Marin County. It is definitely one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California and it was considered by The Frommers travel guide as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world".

Need to get my butt over to Henderson Waves. Have been meaning to visit for the longest of time. Great post!
Reblogged this on All About Travel.
Wonderful photos. I presume one can walk over the Golden Gate Bridge. I’d like to do that when I go. The Singaporean bridge is gorgeous.
Here’s a gentleman who has made some amazing photographs of bridges –

I have no affiliation with the gentleman. Just an acquaintance.
Thanks for sharing this! 😉
When I travelled through Denmark some years ago, I was struck by the variety and beauty of their many bridges.
We love bridges as well. We have two architectural sketches of bridges which we love: Golden Gate and the Brooklyn Bridge. Another fab bridge is the one in Sydney Harbour, Australia.
Yes those are iconic too 😉 Thanks for the suggestions!
Thought I knew my bridges but never heard of the fountain/bridge in South Korea. What a great idea – combine utility with art to complement the setting and function. Thanks for sharing that.
Interesting post. I really like bridges too. There are some really interesting bridges in Cambridge, specifically around ‘The Backs’ where the university college bridges are. They make great photos.
I love Ponte Santa Trinita’ in Florence for the view it gives of the Ponte Vecchio. Florence is so incredibly sublime as it is… That is has such wonderful bridges is almost too much beauty!
Totally agree! Thank you for the suggestion =)
Very nice! Takes me back to ‘Howrah Bridge’ in Kolkata… I have got some amazing pics of Howrah Bridge – but this gives me an idea to write a post on it probably!
Thanks for the suggestion 😉 I didn’t know about this one but it’s very beautiful indeed!
Ah Ana, you are indeed The Key Master of the Traveling Mind
Splendid Post, Simply Delightful
DarkJade-
Great post Ana, bridges are so interesting…there are so many variations!
The one in Florence looks beautiful! I love old drawings of the Old London Bridge in the medieval era, when there were tall buildings of shops and markets either side of the road.
Thanks for your suggestion!
It is fun to photo bridges. Nice post.
great concepts

I love bridges! They are very great subjects for photography. My favorite style has to be the old covered bridges here in the US!
Thanks for sharing! I love the Golden Gate – fun to drive across. I love taking pics of any bridge I find unique. Have a Great Weekend!
Neat post! Have only walked on the Tower Bridge and the Ponte Veccio from your list! I do find the bridges in Paris and of course Avignon very romantic!
Such beautiful images – great subject for a post.
The Fountain Bridge looks beautiful. I haven’t been on that or the Waves bridges. I have read that the Ponte Vecchio was specifically spared from bombing in WWII because of it’s historic uniqueness. A newer, interesting bridge here in Boston, called the Zakim Bridge is very beautiful ,especially at night.
I’ve also been told that about Ponte Vecchio 😉 Thanks for your suggestion, Zakim Bridge is pretty beautiful!
Nice post – I like bridges, last week I crossed over the 2,220 metre single-span Humber Suspension Bridge in the UK which is the fifth largest of its type in the World. This statistic used to be even more impressive because when it was first opened in 1981 it was the longest single-span suspension bridge in the World for the next sixteen years.
Thank you for your suggestion =)
