What cool pictures! Now I must add Scotland to my wish list.
That’s certainly a lot of places to visit 🙂 unfortunately I only have 2 or 3 days… now how to narrow it down. Thanks for the info though!
If you only have 2 or 3 days, I would recommend Edinburgh and Stirling (unless you hate history).
Thanks for visiting my blog. Like you, I enjoy photography but sharing my photos is not the main purpose of my blog. However, I insert them whenever they seem relevant and, when they do not, I post them anyway!
At first I thought you had taken all these photos, then I noticed a few photo credits to third parties, etc.. However, if you have not actually visited Scotland (presumably this is the case since you tagged this post “I wish”), you have come up with a very good list of places. I am quite sure that I could not do the same for Portugal even if I had been there!
However, my mother is Scottish and I grew-up going to Scotland at least twice every year, so I got to know it quite well. Even so, there are some places I have only visited in the last few years. Overall my favourites are the Islands of Skye and Mull (including Iona), and just about anywhere on the north-west coast of the Highlands. One of the many Castles you have not mentioned is Urquart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness. It is only a ruin, but what a location!
Keep up the good work (preferably without flying!)…
Thanks for visiting 1001 Scribbles =) No, I haven’t been to Scotland but I’d like to… someday! Thanks for your kind words and suggestions. I really enjoy your blog as well
Thanks for stopping by my blog Onelifethislife. Awesome video! Never been to Scotland but now I think I should put it on my bucket list! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely Awesome!
Wow! Awesome photos. Will definitely visit Scotland when I have the time and resources. 🙂
Dear Ana,
Thanks for the mini tour of Scotland! Have been researching family ties to the Stirling area and would love to make a real visit. 🙂
Your photos are beautiful! I MUST visit Scotland!
I am actually from Scotland myself and this is one of the best whistle stop tours of my country I have seen. Beautifully accompanied by excellent high caliber images. http://skm1963.wordpress.com/2012/01/01/an-teallach-from-loch-droma/ #Photography
Thank you very much for your kind words 😉

In looking at this again, I must say that is a quirky clock above. 🙂 Beautiful photos.
This is a great post! My husband and I would love to visit Scotland one day. Drummond Gardens look so beautiful!
Your post brought back so many memories! I’ve been to Scotland three times, spent lots of time in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and up the west coast through the highlands and islands. It’s a beautiful country with a fascinating history, and I’ll be back. 🙂

Edinburgh is my favourite British city, with Bristol in second place. (I love ups and downs.) I lived in Stirling for 6 years and visited Edinburgh frequently. A magical place, with so many wonderful memories.
