There are just no words to describe such beauty…

I’d also like to point out that Joana Vasconcelos, a portuguese contemporary artist is the first woman and youngest artist showing her work in a temporary exposition on both the inside of Versailles Palace and its gardens. The exhibition runs from 19 June until 30 September. If you’d like to see a preview of the final results of her brilliant work that makes strong references to the Portuguese culture and its great symbiosis with the majestic Palais de Versailles, you’ll find it here.

Gostaria ainda de acrescentar que a Joana Vasconcelos, uma artista plástica portuguesa é a promiera mulher e a artista mais nova a mostrar o seu trabalho numa exposição temporária no Palácio de Versailles (quer no seu interior, quer nos Jardins). A exibição terá lugar de 19 de Juno até 30 de Setembro. Se pretenderem ver uma “preview” dos resultados finais do seu brilhante trabalho que apresentas fortes referências à cultura portuguesa e à sua magnifica simbiose que o majestoso Palácio de Versailles, encontrá-la-ão aqui.

The Château de Versailles has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List for 30 years and represents one of the most beautiful achievements of 18th-century French art. It all began as Louis XIII’s hunting lodge before his son Louis XIV transformed and expanded it and by 1682 the court and government of France had already been moved to Versailles. Three French kings lived there until the French Revolution and each of them added improvements in order to make it more beautiful. Contemporarily, thousands of people visit Versailles every year and explore its glory, sumptuousness and splendour.

O Palácio de Versailles é Património Mundial da UNESCO há cerca de 30 anos e representa um dos feitos arquitectónicos mais belos da arte francesa do século XVIII. Tudo começou como lojachalé de caça de Louis XIII antes do seu filho Luís XIV o ter transformado e expandido sendo que em 1682 o tribunal e o governo da França já haviam sido transferidos para Versalhes. Três reis franceses ali viveram até a Revolução Francesa e cada um deles adicionou melhorias, a fim de torná-lo cada vez mais bonito. Contemporaneamente, milhares de pessoas visitam todos os anos Versailles e exploram a sua glória, sumptuosidade e esplendor.
