My golden Pear Tart Tatin

This week I finally tried to bake a Pear Tatin Tart and even thought my first attempt didn’t went very well, the second – the one above – was pretty successful. Gladly, I also had the opportunity to take a couple of photographs so that I could show you my “work of art”. Feel free to try it for yourselves.

Esta semana finalmente tentei fazer a Tarte Tatin de Pêra e embora a primeira tentativa não tenha corrido muito bem, a segunda – a que mostro em cima – foi muito bem sucedida. Felizmente, houve ainda oportunidade de tirar um par de fotos para vos mostrar a minha “obra de arte”. Estejam à vontade para experimentar vocês mesmos.

Recipe/Receita:

75g butter 50g sugar 5/6 pears (I used Portuguese Pêra Rocha) cinnamon pastry salt	75g de margarina 50g de açúcar 5/6 pêras (usei Pêra Rocha) canela em pó massa folhada sal, q.b.
Add the butter and sugar in a pan which you can put in the oven at the end. Add the peeled pears and cinnamon powder  to taste, leaving it to caramelize for about 7 minutes. Turn off the heat, put some salt (very little!) over the pears and cover with puff pastry (make some holes in puff pastry). Bake 25/30 minutes at 180 º C.	Juntar a margarina com o açúcar numa frigideira que possa ir ao forno. Adicionar as pêras descascadas e a canela em pó a gosto, deixando caramelizar durante aproximadamente 7 minutos. Desligar o lume, colocar umas pedrinhas de sal (poucas!) por cima das pêras e tapar com a massa folhada (fazer uns furinhos na massa folhada). Levar ao forno 25/30 minutos a 180ºC.

In 2003 he was invited to do the 1st part of the Bryan Adams Iberian tour, with shows in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Porto and Guimarães.

Nasceu e vive em lisboa. João Pedro Pais tornou-se conhecido pela sua participação no programa televisivo “Chuva de Estrelas” onde a sua voz e talento se tornaram uma certeza. Em 2003 foi convidado a fazer a primeira parte dos concertos da tourné ibérica de Bryan Adams, com espetáculos em Barcelona, Madrid, Lisboa, Porto e Guimarães.
